Nocturnal Wonderland Festival 2007, Downtown Los Angeles

Had a blast at Nocturnal 2007 with the likes of the Chemical Brothers, Carl Cox, Paul van Dyk and many more showing their faces against the downtown cityscape. It was surreal to get into the music and turn around and look up at all the skyscrapers and lights of the city. Downtown proved to be the most fitting backdrop for electronic music, it just works well for some reason. I also ended up getting a chance to go to the MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art). Besides that, I just spent the couple of days exploring the urban downtown Los Angeles landscape.

Here are some of the pictures I took. The rest can be found on my flickr.

Matt and I doing some urban exploration. We made it to the roof of the historic Mayfair Hotel. This is us against the Los Angeles cityscape:

A deserted stairway I found somewhere in the middle of downtown Los Angeles and there was a black balloon sitting at the bottom of the steps:

  1. black balloon? mysterious, sounds someplace i would’ve been hiding out. the picture really caught my attention because of that stark yellow and black – really beautiful.

  2. The imminent feeling of falling off that building…
