I ended up deciding to pull the brew today and bottle it. It brewed for 13 days. This time, it came out a lot better and stronger than last time (although next time I am going to brew the tea base even stronger still!). The total yield was about 80oz. (10 cups). I’m experimenting with [...]

Wow, 51 people turned out tonight! I attended the Cal Poly Linux User Group (CPLUG) meeting tonight which was a talk and pizza party sponsored by CustomFlix (who my company happens to co-lo) about Ruby, a nifty programming language that’s been brought more to the front in recent times. It was about the uses and [...]

October is here, and so is the first rain of the season. I’m so glad the heat is finally over. Let’s just hope it’s gone for good until next year. I finally went down to the tunnel down by Cuesta Park to get some photos of all the art that’s been done down there. There [...]

Here are some pictures I took out at Morro Bay yesterday on my phone. The Jetty was nice, it was overcast mostly which was a nice change from all the heat of the past few months. I ended up climbing up on the side of Morro Rock a little ways and then realized that climbing [...]

Well, the first batch turned out ok. Not great but not bad for a first attempt. It was a little bit too sweet still but I thought it came out ok. I’d like to try something besides Mason jars for curing since they don’t seem to hold all the fizz (thanks Jim). Also, the first [...]

I finally received my lockpick learning locks today. It’s a set of three cylinders in a hard plastic block designed to help you learn how to pick locks. After about 2 hours of practicing, I can defeat them all. Interesting to understand how this works. I will purchase some better, high-security cylinders off of ebay [...]

As promised, here are some much higher quality photos of some of the best works at the festival. Also, I heard that they are/have brushed them away at the end of the day since it will be too much of a “distraction” for drivers. How sad!

Today the San Luis Obispo “I Madonnari” chalk drawing festival at the Mission Plaza started and it will continue through tomorrow. Digital West (the company I work for) has sponsored a 7′ by 7′ square there. Some of the drawings are truly amazing such as the portrait of Remdrandt and the egrets. I can’t wait [...]
